Love and Logic

One of my favorite things to do as a believer is to study the logic of God. I find the depth of God to be very intoxicating. There are so many things in this world that over promises and then under delivers. No matter how much I study the things of God, they always over deliver. One of my favorite movies is God of Wonders. The creators did a wonderful job showing the incredible story of the greatness and boundlessness of God. God is truly infinite.

“An infinite God can give all of Himself to each of His children. He does not distribute Himself that each may have a part, but to each one He gives all of Himself as fully as if there were no others.” A. W. Tozer

Is it unfair of us to expect unbelievers to understand the logic of God?Sometimes when I watch movies like God of Wonders, God’s not Dead, or The Case for Christ, I think “why can’t everyone see this?” But I know that this thinking is flawed. For starters, as believers we now see with the Holy Spirit. The blinders of this world have been taken away. Second, if we remember when we first came to Christ it was because we recognized the love of God through Christ. It was a very emotional time coming to the realization that our God loves us and gave up His life for us. It wasn’t because we saw the logic of His creation, it was because we saw the love of the Creator.
It bothers me greatly to be driving down the road and see a church sign or read a post on social media that is intended to teach or discipline a believer. I think it’s important to be discerning about what we say in an open forum. Let us not assume that everyone who sees what we write is a believer. In a world where everyone can share their thoughts and feelings at the click of a button, let us be responsible children of God and show love to those who are not yet born.
Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.
2 Corinthians 4:4

People make decisions based on emotions. Then they justify those decisions with logic. As much as I love the depth of God and the limited understanding of what has been revealed to me, the love of God is where it all starts.

May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Ephesians 3:19
